I Need Your Help
So, what brought you here? Was it the title? It is natural that when we see a cry for help, we respond. We think, “awww he needs my help, let me check that out.” Then, how often do we say, “oh, he’s fighting a winless cause” or “there’s already people filling that need”? How often do we see help is needed and put it out of our minds with the ease and quickness of the click of an X? I am sick and tired of, what I call, ANTI-ACTION.
Watch the video below and go through the emotions…First, you’ll be sad, maybe it’ll bring tears to your eyes. But if you’re not pissed off at the end, you need to watch it again. It’s ridiculous how we read these blogs like they’re freakin fiction stories and move on to the next. How long will YOU sit there and do nothing?
As many of you know, I’m trying to help out Shaun King with the plant of the Courageous Church in downtown Atlanta. Why? Cuz I can. Cuz I have time. Cuz, for some reason, hundreds of people a day read this blog and I hope and pray a few of them get their heart strings pulled on and help out. I’ve been up in the air about how involved I wanted to get in this thing until a few days ago. It was then that Shaun typed these words…“If a church said “All of our after cost funds are going to XYZ charity on a weekly basis” what do u think would be the response?” Can you imagine? That, my friends, is COURAGE!
Today, though, I don’t want you to donate any money; I don’t want you to adopt a kid; I‘ll ask you do that another day. Today I need information from you. Info on how to make this stuff on a large scale and then get it to those in need. My hope is someone who knows someone who is closely related to the subject will stumble upon this blog and help us out. Maybe you’re a blogger and you can post this on your site. We will eventually get answers and in January of 2009 when The Courageous Church opens, we’ll not only be feeding Jesus Christ into the hearts of thousands, but we’ll also be feeding nutrition into thousands of desparately needing bodies. Comment, email, fill out the form….Whatever it is you need to do. Let’s go!
